I was recently gifted a circa 1952 Pfaff 130 sewing machine by my beautiful sister-in-law, Teresa, who has made an art out of generosity. Though I don’t normally insist on naming things, I think her’s must be Frannie as it seems a fitting name for a hard worker of German design.  She works like a dream. I have all her original paperwork including the Certificate of Lifetime Guarantee signed May 9, 1952. The instruction manual, I must say, would have been perfect to highlight in The Design of Everyday Things, by Donald A. Norman.

All in all she is the perfect fit for my little studio.

The case is amazing as well. The chair is part of it and has built in drawers with enough storage to keep needed supplies at hand.

Chair with drawers

Closes up nice and pretty.
